About me!

For starters, my name is Claire, and I have struggled to label myself as a creator. Maybe a “creative type,” but saying I was an artist, author, writer, or creator made me feel uneasy. Like when you reach a certain age, when Miss or Mr is placed in front of your name for the first time.

It feels foreign, but eventually you need to embrace it.

I want to silence the side of myself that has invalidated my love for creating art and writing.

This is my outlet for sharing that progress.

I recently graduated cum laude from the University of Oregon with a B.A. in Political Science and Comparative Literature. I graduated with Honors in Political Science after completing my Honors Thesis, The Transformation of Tradition: Analyzing Changes in U.S. Presidential Debate Norms from 2000 to 2024.

My majors allowed for my further exploration into world politics through scientific research, artistic work, and writing. Despite how my undergrad pushed me to question, investigate, research, dissect, criticize, compromise, and change my mind, I find myself drawn to create.

To take my passions and turn them into something malleable, impactful, and intentional.

So here I am, currently balancing my interests: journalism, art, research, literature, and design.
