CITIES

project 5

As someone with many homes, many affinities and familiarities towards cities and places I’ve lived in (many of which I will probably never be able to step foot in again), I have a love for places. It’s a simple thing, a city. But it is the shared streets, cafes, restaurants, schools, churches, parks, and landscapes that bring us closer to the people who share a city. I have so much to appreciate about merely existing in the same city at the same time on the same street as my friends, family, neighbors, and strangers. Even when times seem bleak, my faith in humanity starts to crumble, my hope for the future, and the beauty of big and small communities help me find peace. People change, revisit, and daydream about cities. This is a long-winded way of saying, I love paying tribute to cities I love and finding a way to bring people together over the appreciation of places we often don’t realize how important they are in our everyday lives until they’re gone, change, or we just take a different drive to work in the morning.
